David B. Kearns

Dave is the founder of DBK Financial Counsel, LLC. He has spent almost 30 years providing investment, financial, tax, and estate planning counsel to high net-worth families.  In addition to his role at DBK Financial, Dave is the owner of the boutique, tax and estate planning law firm of DBK Legal Counsel, LLC, where he provides tax and estate counsel for closely-held business owners and wealthy families.  Previously, Dave was a Managing Director of the wealth management division of a large national financial services firm, where he focused his practice on advising high net worth families.

Dave is a Certified Public Accountant holding the specialized Personal Financial Specialist designation conferred by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  He is also an attorney.  He received his Juris Doctor and Master of Taxation degrees from the University of Akron and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Kent State University. He resides in Akron, Ohio, with his wife, Lana. They have three children, Ryan, Katie, and Josh.

Lauren J. Cantwell

Lauren is a Tax Counselor with DBK Financial.  She focuses her practice on income tax planning and income tax return preparation for high net-worth individuals and families.  Prior to joining DBK Financial, Lauren spent several years at a regional public accounting firm in Northeast Ohio where she was a tax advisor to high net-worth individuals and closely-held businesses.

Lauren obtained her Masters degree in Taxation from the University of Akron and her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Kent State University.  She resides in Streetsboro, Ohio, with her husband, Austin, and their boys, Harlan, Levi and Wesley.

Dori Riddle

Accounting expert & entrepreneur Dori Riddle joined DBK Financial Counsel, LLC in August of 2017. As the Founder & Owner of her own business, as well as expertise as an Administrative Assistant to a CEO of a CPA firm, she is adept at bringing insight to our clients’ needs and driving them toward success.  She has a Series 65.

Dori was born and raised in Southwest Florida and relocated to Ohio in 2013, to be closer to her family. Dori has a daughter and enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and attending musical concerts. 

Dori provides administrative support to the day-to-day operations of our firm and is the first line of contact for our clients.  With her passion as a service-oriented member of the DBK Financial team, all her efforts are focused on creating an exceptional experience for our clients. 

Beth Kearns

Beth has been the bookkeeper for DBK Financial, LLC and DBK Legal, LLC since their inception. Prior to this, she worked with a local non-profit organization doing office administration, public relations, graphic design, as well as bookkeeping. Beth has been a business owner of multiple businesses throughout the years and enjoys helping others to reach their highest potential through these endeavors. Beth is also a graphic designer and enjoys bringing this creative aspect to all that she does.

Beth has been married for almost 40 years and enjoys art, flower gardening, reading, and spending time with her 5 children and 9 grandchildren.
